     This document includes information and 
     instructions on how to get started with BatchView 
     together with Vishay Nobel's instrument TAD 3.

     1. What is BatchView.
     --------------------
     BatchView is a batching utility program
     that runs under Windows95/98 or Windows NT4. It can be used 
     with Vishay Nobel's instrument TAD 3 with standard batching option.

     The product comes with the following functions:
     - Control the batching in TAD 3 (Start/Stop/Reset/Restart/....)
     - Display of batching status
     - Display/Edit batch data
     - Save batch data in file, Fetch batch data from file
     - Logging of batching events to file
     - Display/Edit/Print accumulated weights  




     2. Connections
     --------------
     BatchView communicates with the connected instrument via a 
     serial port (COM1 - COM4) on the PC. In the normal case this 
     port is a RS232 port, and if the serial ports on the 
     instruments are RS485 ports, the connection has to go 
     through a RS232/RS485 converter. If the PC has a built
     in RS485 port the converter can be omitted.
     The connection could use 2-wire or 4-wire RS485. If 2-wire
     RS485 is used the converter has to have automatic data
     direction control.

     Make sure the converter is jumpered for 4-wire RS485 and
     that the bus is terminated.
     See also the instrument and converter manual for further
     information on how the serial port should be connected.

     3. Menu File
     ------------
     Fetch Batch Data from file...
        Fetch batch data from file and send it to the connected TAD 3.

     Save Batch Data in file...
        Save current batch data in a file.



     4. Menu Tools
     -------------
     Accumulated weight...
        Opens an accumulated weight dialog box where all accumulated
        weights are displayed. From this dialog box the accumulated
        weights can be printed on the default printer using the Print
        button.
        An accumulated weight can be edited by double clicking the 
        desired weight (password may be required). Press enter to
        accept the new value or Escape to cancel.
     
     TAD 3 Utils...
        Opens a TAD 3 dialog box where weight and status for the
        connected TAD 3 instrument is displayed. From this dialog
        box it is also possible to perform a number of basic 
        commands as tare, set to zero, set remote operation on/off,....

     Reinitiate
        Reinitiates the BatchView program and reads new data from
        the connected TAD 3. Use this command, or restart the BatchView
        program, as soon you have made any changes in the TAD 3 set-up.

     Set-Up...
        Opens a Settings dialog box (password may be required) from 
        where it is possible to make a number of settings for the
        BatchView program.
        - Language: Possible to select English or Swedish.
        - Change password: Possible to change the Set-up and
          the User password. Entering a blank password will disable
          the password function. The Set-up password is used to enter
          the Set-up menu and User password is used when changing
          batch data and accumulated weights.
        - Log file: Used to select if batching events shall be 
          logged in a file, and if so, to which file.
        - Communication: Used to select the address of the 
          connected TAD 3 and other communication parameters
          (baud rate, parity and communication port).
          NOTE! The instrument address and communication parameters
          must be set equal as in TAD 3.



     5. BatchView main window
     ------------------------
     The main window shows:
        - Instrument name of the connected TAD 3.
        - Gross and net weigh with taring possibilities.
        - The last opened batch data file and information if the batch 
          data in the file and in the instrument differs.
        - Current batch data from TAD 3 that can be edited by double 
          clicking the desired value (password may be required).
          (Press enter to accept the new value or Escape to cancel)
        - Current batch status from TAD 3.
        - Batch number, Batched weight and Total batched weight (for
          current batch) that are updated during batching.

     There are also a number of buttons that can be used to control
     the batching (Start, Stop,...) from the program. Only buttons
     that are active for the moment are enabled, all other buttons
     are disabled.

     6. Log file format
     -------------------
     The log file is an ASCII-file where each line is terminated by CRLF.
     Each line is divided into tab-separated fields and each line 
     corresponds to one batching event.
     Following fields are available (from left to right):
       Date, Time, Event number, Event description, 
       Number of batches, Batch size, Batch size unit, Batch number, 
       Activity number, Activity name, Setpoint, Setpoint unit,
       Batched weight (for current activity), Unit for batched weight,
       Subtotal (for current batch), Unit of subtotal, 
       Name (including path) of current batch data file, Remark.

     Where "Event number" 11 - 17 corresponds to standard 
     batching alarm code 01 - 07 (see TAD 3 Technical manual)
     and 1 - 4 corresponds to events as below.
     Event:  1 = Batching started
             2 = Activity ready
             3 = Batch ready
             4 = Batching finished

     Where "Remark" is a text that indicates that the data in current
     batch data file differs from the batch data in the instrument.

     NOTE! All fields will not contain data for all events. 
     Only selected fields will be filled in for each type of event.

     1. Vad r BatchView
     -------------------
     BatchView r ett hjlpprogram fr dosering som krs 
     under Windows95/98 or Windows NT4. Det kan anvndas
     tillsammans med Vishay Nobel's TAD 3 instrument
     med standard doseringsoption.

     Fljande funktioner ingr i programmet:
     - Styrning av doseringen i TAD 3 (Start/Stopp/Avbryt/terstart/....)
     - Visning av doseringsstatus
     - Visning/ndring av doseringsdata
     - Spara doseringsdata i fil, Hmta doseringsdata frn fil
     - Registrering av doseringshndelser i fil
     - Visning/ndring/Utskrift av ackumulerade vikter



     2. Anslutningar
     ---------------
     BatchView kommunicerar med det anslutna instrumentet via en 
     seriell port (COM1 - COM4) p Pc:n. I normala fall r denna 
     port en RS232 port, och om den seriella porten p  
     instrumentet r en RS485 port, mste anslutningen gras 
     genom en RS232/RS485 konverterare. Om Pc:n har en inbyggd RS485
     port kan konverteraren uteslutas.
     Anslutningen kan gras via 2-trds eller 4-trds RS485. Om 2-trds
     RS485 anvnds mste konverteraren ha automatisk omkoppling av
     datariktningen.

     Kontrollera att konverteraren r byglad fr 4-trd RS485 och
     att dataledningarna r avslutade.
     Se ocks beskrivningarna fr instrumentet och konverteraren
     fr mera information om hur anslutningarna skall utfras.

     3. Meny Arkiv
     -------------
     Hmta doseringsdata frn fil...
        Hmta doseringsdata frn en fil och skicka dem till 
        det anslutna TAD 3 instrumentet.

     Spara doseringsdata i fil...
        Spara aktuell doseringsdata i en fil.



     4. Meny Verktyg
     ---------------
     Ackumulerad vikt...
        ppnar ett fnster dr alla ackumulerade vikterna visas.
        Frn detta fnster kan de ackumulerade vikterna
        skrivas ut p standardskrivaren med knappen "Skriv ut".
        En ackumulerad vikt kan ndras genom att dubbelklicka p den
        nskade vikten (lsenord kan behvas). Tryck retur fr att
        acceptera det nya vrdet eller Escape fr att avbryta.
     
     TAD 3 Hjlpmedel...
        ppnar ett TAD 3 fnster dr vikt och status fr det anslutna
        TAD 3 instrumentet visas. Frn detta fnster gr det ocks att
        utfra ett antal grundlggande kommandon som tarera,
        nollstlla, vlja fjrrstyrning till/frn,....

     Reinitiera
        Initierar om BatchView programmet och lser in nya data frn det
        anslutna TAD 3 instrumentet. Anvnd detta kommando, eller starta
        om BatchView programmet, om du gjort ngra ndringar TAD 3 
        instrumentets uppsttning.

     Instllningar...
        ppnar ett fnster fr instllningar (lsenord kan behvas) dr 
        det gr att gra ett antal instllningar fr BatchView programmet.
        - Sprk: Mjlighet att vlja mellan Engelska eller Svenska.
        - ndra lsenord: Mjlighet att ndra lsenordet fr Instllning
          och Anvndare. Inmatning av ett blankt lsenord stnger av 
          lsenordsfunktionen. Lsenord fr Instllning anvnds fr att f
          tilltrde till instllningsmenyn och lsenord fr Anvndare 
          anvnds vid ndring av doseringsdata och ackumulerade vikter.
        - Loggfil: Anvnds fr att vlja om doseringshndelser skall 
          registreras i en fil, och om s r fallet, i vilken fil.
        - Kommunikation: Anvnds fr att ange adress p det anslutna TAD 3
          instrumentet och fr att stlla in vriga kommunikationsparametrar 
          (verfringshastighet, paritet och kommunikationsport).
          OBS! Instrumentadress och kommunikationsparametrarna mste
          stllas in lika som de i TAD 3 instrumentet.



     5. BatchView huvudfnster
     -------------------------
     Huvudfnstret visar:
        - Instrumentnamnet p ansluten TAD 3.
        - Brutto- och nettovikt med mjlighet till att tarera.
        - Namnet p den senast ppnade doseringsdatafilen och
          information om doseringsdata i filen avviker frn
          doseringsdata i instrumentet.
        - Aktuell doseringsdata frn TAD 3 som kan ndras genom
          att dubbelklicka p det nskade vrdet (lsenord kan behvas).
          (Tryck retur fr att acceptera det nya vrdet eller Escape fr att avbryta)
        - Aktuellt doseringsstatus frn TAD 3.
        - Satsnummer, Doserad vikt och Totalt doserad vikt (fr 
          aktuell sats) som uppdateras under pgende dosering.

     Det finns ocks ett antal knappar som kan anvndas fr att styra
     doseringen (Start, Stopp,...) frn programmet. Bara knappar
     som r aktiva fr tillfllet r i funktion, alla vriga knappar r avstngda.

     6. Format p loggfil
     --------------------
     Loggfilen r en ASCII-file dr varje rad avslutas med CRLF.
     Varje rad r indelad i tab-separerade flt och varje rad  
     motsvarar en doseringshndelse.
     Fljande flt finns (frn vnster till hger):
       Datum, Tid, Hndelsenummer, Hndelsebeskrivning, 
       Antal satser, Satsstorlek, Enhet p satsstorlek, Satsnummer, 
       Activitetsnummer, Activitetsnamn, Brvrde, Enhet p brvrde,
       Doserad vikt (fr aktuell aktivitet), Enhet p doserad vikt,
       Subtotal (fr aktuell sats), Enhet p subtotal, 
       Namn (inklusive skvg) p aktuell doseringsdatafil, Anmrkning.

     Dr "Hndelsenummer" 11 - 17 motsvarar standard kod fr 
     doseringslarm 01 - 07 (se TAD 3 Teknisk handbok) och 1 - 4
     motsvarar hndelser enligt nedan.
     Hndelse:  1 = Dosering startad
                2 = Aktivitet klar
                3 = Sats klar
                4 = Dosering avslutad

     Dr "Anmrkning" r en text som indikerar om data i aktuell
     doseringsdatafil avviker frn doseringsdata i instrumentet.

     OBS! Alla flt innehller inte data fr alla hndelser.
     Bara vissa flt kommer att innehlla data fr varje typ av hndelse.
